“OVER 40 REVUE' HISTORY
The “Over 40 Revue” was founded in 2001 to give adults aged 40 and over an Opportunity to display their talents to a wide variety of audiences. There are many talented “senior” adults who never get the chance to perform and entertain audiences, the “Over 40 Revue” has become that vehicle for these performers. Kennie Hicks, the founder and creator of the “Over 40 Revue” thought this show would be an excellent way for older adults to get another chance to showcase unseen talents. Ms. Hicks also wanted the “Over 40 Revue” to be a vehicle to raise money for young men and women wanting to attend college.
Since its inception the “Over 40 Revue” has partnered with the United Negro College Fund and Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU). The contributions made through attending the show will ensured that our nation's future is secure. After five successful years, the staff of the Revue decided to make the “Over 40 Revue” a scholarship fund to directly impact the lives of young people who want to further their education by attending an HBCU.
Education is an important tool, every dollar you give will help our children to obtain that vital tool. Education is freedom.
